Recording & sync guide
Start on iPhone or Apple Watch.
Start Paddle
On iPhone, tap Start Paddle from Overview or Paddles, then start. An available Apple Watch joins automatically. You can also start in PaddleForm on Apple Watch.
Enjoy your paddle
Use Pause or Resume on either participating device. On supported Apple Watches, hold the Digital Crown to unlock Water Lock before using the controls.
Explore on iPhone
Finish your paddle to save, then open it on iPhone for Session Details or Route Analysis. Watch data may arrive later.
Open PaddleForm on Apple Watch and tap Set up permissions there too. Watch permissions are granted on the Watch.
If a measurement is missing
Check PaddleForm's location and motion permissions on iPhone, and Health and location permissions on Apple Watch. Some readings need movement or an available sensor.
Use Apple Watch
Controls sync when your devices can communicate. Recording continues if the connection is lost.
Saved paddles transfer automatically when the Watch and iPhone can communicate. Keep both apps installed, open PaddleForm on both devices and give the transfer time. The Watch retains its recording until the iPhone confirms receipt.

Do I need an Apple Watch?
You can record with iPhone alone, Apple Watch alone, or both. Apple Watch adds available heart rate and wrist motion. iPhone gives you a larger live instrument view.
Do I need Pro to record a paddle?
Recording and basic paddle review remain available without Pro. Deeper analysis and longer-term comparisons are Pro features.
What do the paddling estimates tell me?
They help you explore your paddling rhythm and wrist steadiness using the sensor data available in that paddle. Ride Smoothness highlights calmer and more variable movement within the session. Read it alongside turns, grip and water conditions.
When can I download PaddleForm?
PaddleForm is coming soon. We’re preparing for the App Store, and the download link will appear here when the app is ready.
